exceedingly more rare to find in this condition, this 16660 comes with all of its accessories since it left the Rolex factory in 1984. The dial has aged to what is called a "frozen dial". This terminology has just recently surfaced and it is not the same as a spider dial. This particular dial has aged perfectly and has zero defects. The hands match perfectly. The case appears to be unpolished and the original insert has started to turn to a mocha color. The movement appears to be clean and is running strong and keeping excellent time.
THE 16660 is a transitional reference and was first introduced by Rolex in 1978 with some significant upgrades to the previous model 1665. The 16660 bore a sapphire crystal, an upgraded movement with quickset function and also double depth capability compared to the previous 1665 model.
