notes about the model:
The Rolex 16760, also known as the "Rolex GMT-Master II Fat Lady" or "Coke," is a vintage watch that holds a special place in Rolex's GMT-Master collection. It was produced from the early 1980s until the early 1990s.
The 16760 is notable for being the first GMT-Master II model introduced by Rolex. It introduced several significant upgrades over its predecessor, the GMT-Master 1675. One of the key features of the 16760 is its ability to independently adjust the hour hand, allowing the wearer to track multiple time zones simultaneously.
The nickname "Fat Lady" refers to its thicker case compared to previous GMT-Master models. The increased thickness was necessary to accommodate the new movement and quick-set date feature.
This one : The current example here up for sale dated to 1987. The dial has a very cool tropical appearance and the hands match the hour markers quite nicely. The case is in excellent vintage condition with clear numbers between the lugs. The bezel insert has faded to a brown and dark cherry color and is very aesthetically pleasing. The Bracelet is the original 78360 and has all its links. The movement was timed at +/- 5 seconds per day and seems to be in very nice working order.
