Up for grabs here is a very interesting submariner from 1991. The 14060 has become very collectible in the last few years. This one bears a frozen dial which is akin to spider dials showing smoother lines. This frozen dial appears to be perfect with a very even texture throughout with nicely matching tritium hands. The case appears to be unpolished and its still on its original fully linked bracelet. The movement has been recently serviced and keeping excellent time.
model notes:
The Rolex Submariner 14060 is a significant model in the Submariner lineup, known for its classic design and robust functionality. It is often referred to as the "no-date" Submariner because it lacks the date complication found in other Submariner models.
There have been a few notable evolutions within the Rolex Submariner 14060 model line during its production run. Here are the key changes:
-
Submariner 14060: Introduced in the late 1980s, the initial version featured an aluminum bezel insert and a tritium dial. The movement used in this model was the Rolex Caliber 3000.
-
Submariner 14060M: In the late 1990s, Rolex made significant updates to the 14060 model, transitioning from tritium to SuperLuminova for the dial markers. Additionally, they replaced the aluminum bezel insert with a more scratch-resistant ceramic one. The movement was also upgraded to the Rolex Caliber 3130, which featured a higher beat rate and improved accuracy.
It's important to note that both the 14060 and 14060M models share similar design aesthetics and overall characteristics. The key differences lie in the movement, luminous material, and bezel insert which makes the original iteration very collectible.
