There are Patrizzi and there are Patrizzi - this is the latter. A rare opportunity to purchase the epitome of PATRIZZI Daytona 16520 of the straight six variant. The dial on this particular Zenith Daytona has perfectly aged subdials with an incredibly homogenous brown hue. There is absolutely no bubbling or marks on this dial. The case is also in excellent condition and appears to have never been polished and the movement has been serviced and is keeping perfect time.
with regard to WHAT makes a dial become brown or patrizzi (a real one) - well Rolex used Zapon, an organic varnish on these dials from 1990 till about 1997. Over time the varnish would change color as seen in the subdials here. This defect has made Patrizzi Daytonas some of the most coveted in the world and its easy to see why. No two are alike which makes these even more interesting for a collector who seeks a truly unique piece of Rolex history.
