Here is a distinctly beautiful DRSD 1665 Mk3 from 1973. The dial is fantastic with deep patina on the luminous markers and hands. The case is thick and sharp and was probably detailed at some point in its life with clear ref and serial between the lugs. The movement is running strong and keeping excellent time. no box or papers with this one however a sharp example of an exceedingly hard to find Seadweller.
Model Notes:
The 1973 Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller with a Mark 3 dial is a vintage dive watch that is highly sought after by collectors. The "Double Red" refers to the two lines of red text on the dial, which read "Sea-Dweller" and "Submariner 2000," and are separated by a line of white text that reads "2000ft=610m."
The Mark 3 dial is characterized by the word "Submariner" being written in a smaller font than the other text, and the use of a hyphen in the word "Sea-Dweller." The hour markers are also larger and have a more prominent square shape compared to earlier Mark 1 and Mark 2 dials.
The 1973 Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller with a Mark 3 dial is a particularly desirable model for collectors due to its relatively limited production and unique design features. As with other vintage Rolex models, the value of a Double Red Sea-Dweller with a Mark 3 dial can vary depending on a variety of factors, including its condition, originality, and rarity. However, these watches are generally considered highly collectible and can command significant prices in the vintage watch market.
